Richardson scenes are iconic for the Wizard character

the ones without him..... it's another movie.

Steven Wright: Right now, I'm having amnesia and deja vu - I think I forgot this before.

WARNING : SPOILER ALERT

He was one of the greats, he could have played this particular role in his sleep. Wish his role could have been bigger, but it was a nice surprise seeing him again toward the end.

It'a always been my opinion, even since I was a boy and first saw this film in the theatre, that the film should have focused around him as he taught his apprentice Nicole. And that Nicole and Clarke's love story should have just been a side issue as we watched Richardson deal with the king, the dragon and everything else.

It would have been a much better and much richer film. And maybe, just maybe, Peter McNicole wouldn't have felt embarrassed by it ... as opposed to that film he did with what's her name on that island.
