Did this actually play in theaters?? if so, when?

Anyone ever seen this on the big screen, if so, which name was it under? and what year did it come out??

reply

I saw it in Los Angeles in a movie theatre under the title THE DORM THAT DRIPPED BLOOD. I think that was in 1983. Right around that time it also played on "pay-TV" under the title PRANKS. I believe it had already played in other cities as PRANKS.

How was it back then?? I wonder if the movie looked any better than the current blu-ray..

Well seeing it on such a huge screen will pretty much trump the BD/DVD, but ignoring that the BDs might look better due to the fact when seeing in theaters you are seeing prints made of the original negatives.

Nothing will top the original negatives in terms of quality.

Darling, you can't rape a townie.

Quality seemed pretty much identical to the Blu-ray, but bigger. Big, big beautiful grains. I also saw an old 35mm print projected about a year and a half ago, and it did not look as good as the Blu-ray.

I remember this being on a double bill with some other movie back in 1983. I was a kid then, so my memory is vague. I just recall when movies like this used to play in theaters.

I wish I had seen this in the theater in 1982. I certainly would have appreciated it more then. This arrived in theater during a (blood) spurt of fairly generic slasher films, and just as quickly it seemed to vanish.
