Cynthia's friend gives Jules a "magic bird" in the bistro.

The last piece in Gorodish's puzzle is a bird evading waves; he puts it in, then goes out and saves Jules.

Neat.

Some sea birds fly at the edge of a wave to hunt and catch fish. They don't avoid the wave, they fly so close that it appears to be still and they can see what's in it. Alba told us that Gorodish dreams of stopping the waves.
(Maybe he should have taken up surfing.)
