Samantha's agent at the time would not let her audition for parts. He felt as an Golden Globe and Cannes Film Festival Award winning actress with an Academy Award nomination to her credit, she should not have to audition but be cast on her name.
Hollywood was changing and at this point Sam was doing a ton of TV. Additionally, Sam still had her English accent and a lot of producers wanted her to play American.
Her fee was around $150,000 to $200,000 per film for a major studio release taking 10 weeks to film.

Demonoid was shot in five weeks and Sam was paid $75,000. She did not have to audition and Ted Korman, her agent, was happy.

Ted should have let Sam audition for parts. She was up for "The Deep" and several other films. Also, at this time Sam was losing interest in her career. If locations were required she only wanted to shoot in the summer when her kids were out of school or with their father.
If would be nice if her son, who is a producer, would cast her in a role.
