When Kersey corners Stomper in the hotel, why didnt ask him the where abouts of the others, or where he might find them. He could've lied and said, "I'll let you live"
Just would've saved time that's all

He wasn't thinking logically. He was out for revenge.

At least you got confirmation it's not a plot hole.
