Odd themes found in death wish series

I'm rewatching the series (just started 4) and I've noticed two odd themes that run through the series (1-3 so far)

If you wind up in the hospital for a broken foot or a busted lip... Youre gonna die after Bronson tells someone everything is fine (his wife in 1 and Sertis in 3)

And the oddest... Those gosh darn revelers and their damned balloons?!?
