DVD..... ANY TIME IN THIS MILLENIUM, MR. CRAVEN?!

This film features a superstar(Sharon Stone), an oscar-winning star(Ernest Borgnine), and was directed by a hugely popular genre filmmaker(Wes Craven). Yet, still no DVD! What gives? Anyone have any recent updates on this subject or know how we can get the process in motion?

Agreed! This film is, in my opinion, the best of Craven's work, yet it remains completely unknown by many. We need a DVD release, pronto. Maybe William Lustig's company, Blue Underground, can pick it up; they've done great work in the past and are now releasing another of my favorites from the era, Jeff Lieberman's "Just Before Dawn". The website may have a contact link.

You're right about "Just Before Dawn." Another classic from '81. I heard that it was finally being released on DVD, and I was thrilled! However, I didn't think it was by Blue Underground...I thought I heard that it was being released by another company. B.U. is awesome though, because they did "The Prowler" and "Venom." They're right up there with Anchor Bay. Any way, back to the subject of "Deadly Blessing"...extras for the DVD would be fantastic! Perhaps Craven's commentary, of course. Generally speaking, Sharon Stone has been out of it as of late...maybe they could even convince her to participate in a commentary with Maren Jensen and Susan Buckner. Yeah, right. Oh, well...I guess we'll continue to dream.

Yeah, you're right, my mistake; Just Before Dawn is being released on July 26th by Media Blasters, not Blue Underground. I know that Anchor Bay used to have a contact page on their website where they asked people for ideas for future releases; some of their favorite genre films that are long overdue for DVD release. I should look into BUs website to see if they have the same. This film has a wealth of talent behind it, and with Craven's name attached, should be a worthwhile venture for any company. Quick, release it before they decide to remake it! I'm looking in YOUR direction, Rupert Wainwright and "The Fog" blasphemers!

Another vote for a DVD here!

Both this movie and Deadly friend need a DVD release. Though neither of these films were blockbusters they were not flops either. Considering all the fringe movies that have been released in the format you would think that both of these films would get there proper release.

I agree, both 'Deadly Friend' and 'Deadly Blessing' deserve DVD releases. Perhaps, if nothing else, they could release them both as a double feature on one barer bone DVD. AS long as the original aspect ratios are maintained. No "full screen" nonsense, please.

I wonder if Maggie May by Rod Stewart is keeping this from being released on DVD? Sometimes songs in a film can hold up release on DVD because of royalties.

It's been released on both DVD and Blu-ray from those fine folks at Shout! Factory.
