Exploding car

I'm glad they don't make cars any longer in the way they used to do it in the early 80's. Just a few flames on the surface of the car, it the whole thing explodes after a few seconds.

I'll guess you are referring to the fate of the beloved character Vicky. Yeah, I'm glad too. I wish there were an alternate version where Vicky survives. That really upset me that she died, and she was the most likable character!

Young man is angry! Girl is afraid! He wants to get high, she wants to get paid! City's Burning!

What's even worse is that her death had no function in the movie other than another dead body on the list. The movie would probably still be exactly the same even if she had survived.

Luckily, they make cars a little more fireproof these days.

God, I am SOOOOOOOOOO glad that filmmakers have figured out that cars don't actually explode every time someone gets in a fender bender. Although I'm a huge fan of '70s and '80s cinema, I cringe every time I watch an old flick and see a car ridiculously explode.

As for the deaths, frankly I was annoyed. They spent such a huge chunk of the running time building up that relationship just to kill them both off. Seemed like a huge waste. The move certainly would've still worked if they'd had them survive. Actually, it was even more unfulfilling, cuz I expected Borgnine would get his comeuppance and he never did.

I didn't mind them dying. I didn't see it as a waste either, I mean part of the movie is the backlash anyone gets from turning against or pissing off the Hittites or whatever they call themselves. That or the incubus will kill you at one point. The son dying was no exception at least they were consistent. The ending was far more annoying.

But the whole car had just been doused in petrol. Sorry, gasoline.

It didn't just randomly explode after a few flames touched it. The roof and interior of the car had been doused in gas, as well as Vicky herself.

We've met before, haven't we?
