Alternate ending music

When I first rented this movie on VHS, the end of the movie came and there was some awesome instrumental horror music by joe renzetti. this included a jazzy version of "Take The A Train" which segued into some more instrumental music. All this during the end credits.this was back in 1983 when it had just come out on VHS.
Just so I am clear. there was no alternate ending to "Dead And Buried". I refer to the alternate music they play in the end credits on some later copies issued since the studio released the film in later edits.
Instead of the exciting spine tingling end credit instrumental, they rerecord the opening piano solo but add the most annoying "Kenny G" type alto saxophone accompaniment. I was soooo pissed and disappointed.
If anyone knows where I can get an older copy with the original ending score music, it would be extremely cool but so rare and hard to find.

I felt exactly the same way.

My old Thorn-EMI VHS rental had that lively horror score (heard during the opening beach attack) over the end credits that dissolved rather effectively into the jazz piece that fits in with Dobbs' musical taste heard throughout the film.

The DVD presents the film beautifully to look at but I still can't get used to those closing titles with the same piano piece that opened the movie.

And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.
