Scared the hell out of me as a 8 year old, but how will I feel now?

I remember watching this at least twice when I was 8 or 9. Scary as hell. Loved it. Still remember the flower gift at the end sending a shiver down my spine. great memories.

Want to watch this again. Saw that it is on Bluray, Might have to pick it but I'm afraid watching it as a 30 something will ruin the memories.

I'm 36, and am watching again for the first time since I was a kid. I rented it from Netflix.
So far, it still chills me!
The scarecrow's face alone is terrifying!

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

I saw this as a kid back in the early 80s myself. It made me think all postmen were evil! I still get the sweats going to the mail box.

This movie is definitely inappropiate for 8 years olds.

I was 8 when this movie originally aired on CBS & it literally traumatized me it was so terrifying. I had nightmares for about 6 months after watching it & nearly had a panic attack anytime I saw a commercial for it on TBS. Only in the past few years have I been able to handle looking at images of the Scarecrow's face online. So yeah, I think you will still find it effective...

This is a rotten way to end it!
This is not the end; you haven't read it yet.

I'm not sure if you'll find it "scary" but you'll definitely be able to appreciate the story and feel angry about the injustice committed. I think you'll root for revenge. Even if you don't think it's scary I think you should still be able to enjoy it for it's story.

Burn, witch! Burn, witch! Burn! Burn! Burn!

I was 11 when it first aired. Scared me silly.

Now I watch it every Halloween with my family, along with "Don't Go To Sleep."

Always -- ALWAYS entertained. It won't ruin a thing. It will just amaze you that you had such good taste as a kid =).
