Can anybody identify this other scary TV movie?

There was a very scary TV movie from the '80's that I can't recall the title to but I'd really like to find. From what I can remember, the story goes as follows:
There's a dark haired little girl who, maybe, is orphaned. In any case, she's seated in the back seat of a car with two other kids, a boy and a girl. The little boy ties the dark haired girl's shoelaces together. Suddenly, the car is in a major collision and everybody escapes except for this girl because of her shoelaces. The car goes up in flames and she dies. Later, we see the family in the car going on with their life..however, they are all eventually killed off by the ghost of this little girl. At the end, I remember her killing someone by dropping a radio in someone's bath. The part that haunted me for years is when this ghost would show up at the feet of the bed of the other little girl as she slept. Very scary and twisted. My memory of this film is somewhat vague, because I saw it so long ago...but if anybody recognizes these random details, please post!

Thanks :)

The movie the last reply was asking about is "Silent Rage" starring Chuck Norris.

Alright you primitive screwheads, listen up!

Also, I've been wondering if anybody might know of another scary movie. All I remember is a scene where a man is sitting beside a bed with a sick person and this person with a grey face or mask pushes a casket or something at them. Also, at the end a little boy is standing outside a big house and it starts to crumble down. As a kid, this movie creeped me out.

Alright you primitive screwheads, listen up!

reply

The house thing sounds like The Gate but that might be a stretch. I haven't seen that one in many years. It's not Phantasm is it?

reply

It's neither of those films. Thanks for trying. I bet nobody will be able to figure this out unfortunatly.

The movie you're thinking of is Burnt Offerings with Oliver Reed and Bette Davis. It still does a great job at creeping me out.

reply

i'm trying to remember a scary t.v. movie from the 70's. all i can remember is a young girl with an evil mother/stepmother. all i remember something about marionette puppets in one of those box theaters and it was outside. I remember the evil mother screaming and it really creeped me out. I've had it my head as long as i can remember.

reply

You know what. I've been talking about this film for years with no one knowing what the hell I was talking about. If you find out, please let me know.

I think your right. Shelley Winters was this insane rich lady who kept these 2 orphans ( a brother and sister ) held hostage in her house, very creepy. Love Dark Night of the Scarecrow BTW. I also remember the other one everyone was talking about called Don't Go to Sleep, also creepy.

Ron (to Hermione): Anyone we know dead?

reply

I'm not absolutely sure and it's been years since I saw it, but Whoever Slew Auntie Roo also came to mind. Good luck to you both in finding out.

reply

just bought who slew auntie roo
not the film i was lookin for but i did enjoy it

reply

Hey folks, another great made-for-tv movie was "Midnight Offerings", the one about a good and bad witch fighting each other. Man, that could use a DVD release too.

The movie you're thinking of is another really creepy one that I saw for the first time as a kid, with Chuck Connors and Tanya Roberts.

Since this thread has become the catch all for this sort of thing, I'm trying to get a title for this; All I remember is a woman living in a house and something trying to drag her down the chimney as her husband (?) tries to save her. Anyone know?

Well, like I said I don't remember much, except it was the early 80's, and I've pretty much forgot the whole movie except for that ending, with something (a creature?) dragging her down a chimney. I think it might be The Boogens, but I'm not sure. Is there a scene like that in The Boogens? Thanks!

reply

Are you thinking of Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark with Kim Darby and Jim Hutton? It is from 1973.

reply

Yeah, I know that one but I also forgot the title. It ended with the dwarfs dragging her down right?

Here's one: A hammy actor known for playing a vampire finds himself at the mercy of two dotty old women in the countryside who think he really is a vampire. He tries in vain to convince them otherwise, but by the end, is killed when they drive a sword through his heart.

I don't think it was a movie but an episode or segment of some horror anthology series from the 70s. It doesn't seem to be a "Night Gallery" episode and was in color; it was played partly for laughs, a la "Arsenic and Old Lace," but the ending is quite grim. There is a British horror film that has a somewhat similar segment involving said actor and real vampires, but that's not this program.

I've got 2 other old movies I've been trying for ages to get titles to:

The first one isn't scary at all but it's a young girl pretending to be a boy and she's on a train going somewhere and a bunch of other people (don't know if they were kids) are roughing her up and she hits one of them I think and then goes on for the rest of the movie still pretending she's a boy. I think it was black and white but not sure.

The second one was a sci-fi thriller - I'm pretty sure it was either about time travel or something similar. There was this pod/capsule that these young people were in (I know I'm being vague but it's all I can remember - it was at least 20 years since I've seen this but it left an impression on me). I remember one specific part where they get out and they're in this desert like one dimensional plane of existance. I believe the sky was yellow or orange and the ground was bone dry and blue maybe. And at the end of this movie, they either crashed the pod and it caught fire or they set it on fire on purpose so it couldn't be used anymore. I've rented several old movies trying to figure this one out to no avail. I would love if this jogged someone's memory so I could finally put it at rest.

reply

jstanton1970, isn't Carrie the film you're speaking of? Should be.

blackmangopit, the first movie's title you asked for could be Boys Don't Cry though it is in color.

reply

The sci-fi movie sounds like the TV series "Voyagers".

I know this post was from a long time ago but I was reading it and it reminded me of Orphan Train (1979)(TV) with Melissa Michaelson as the girl dressed as a boy. (She's the sister of Peter Billingsly from A Christmas Story.) I loved that movie as a kid! It's been a long time since I've seen it, but it sounds similar to it.

I didn't read all of the following posts to see if this was answered. Hope this helps!

I think that your second movie description about the sci-fi thriller from the 80's is possibly Solarbabies (1986) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091981/?ref_=nv_sr_3

reply

Since everyone is asking about old movies they remember, I have two. Does anyone remember a TV movie from the 80's about a man who was going to die and was cryogenically frozen, but when he was revived he had no soul? I know that's kinda vague. Here's an even vaguer one. There was a movie in the late 70's/early 80's, and all I remmeber is a man who was struck by lightening and then developed the ability to control electricity.

reply

jahmal99, I definitely know the second one. It is Ghost in the Machine, great stuff.

reply

The first was "Chiller," a Wes Craven TV movie, I believe, but I don't know what the second one was.

reply

Okay here's a long shot. Can anyone remember a movie I think took place in the '70s but could've been very early '80s. All I remember was a girl who I think was hitchhiking and is raped and beaten. Her face was all yellowy looking afterwards and I think she had maybe shoulder length brown hair. Unfortunately I was like probably 4 or 5 years old when I saw it with my sister so that's all I remember.

reply

Try "I Spit on Your Grave". That's the movie that comes to mind right away. i'll think on it some more.

reply

Speaking of older movies this one i remeber only small pieces of it. It was a tv movie and this woman moves into this huge house. It was protected by gates on the outside. The inside had a swimming pool that the top slid closed on. One person ends up dying in the swimming pool. I also remeber that the house would not let this lady leave; but i think at the end she was allowed to

reply

I believe the movie you are talking about is The Legacy. The heirs to an estate are all at the house, waiting for the old guy to kick the bucket or something. Katherine Ross is the heir that wants to leave with her boyfriend, chunk-o-hunk Sam Elliott, but they can't leave. I have the book, it's by John Coyne, very good reading. Another really memorable thing about this movie is that Roger Daltry from The Who is in it!

reply

AGATHA CHRISTIE'S ENDLESS NIGHT
starred Hywell Bennet

reply

Yes, that was called "Chiller". Wes Craven directed it.

I've been trying to track down a movie (or TV show) I remember my father watching in the fall of 1981.

The one scene I remember had a guy talking on a payphone. While he spoke, he started having a fit. He was holding a necklace with a silver cross, and it melted in his hand.

I believe later in the movie, we see he has a scar in the shape of a cross on his palm.

Any ideas?

reply

maybe BELLS starring richard chamberlain .

reply

Can anyone help me with this one from when I was a kid(20 years ago or so)? All I remember was this big house or castle that was haunted and there was a bloodstain on the carpet that would not come clean. I seem to remember something about the ghosts being hurt by the paranormal investigation. Sorry I could not be more clear, but it was decades ago.

reply

How about this one. It's not a scary movie but it was kinda creepy. It was a TV movie from sometime in the late 70's or early 80's. A woman hides her teenage son in a secret room in her house because he commited some kind of crime, I don't remember what it was, and she wanted to keep him out of jail. She dies and the house is sold to a new family but he doesn't leave. He stays in the house and never leaves the secret room except to eat. The family hears strange sounds and starts to feel like they're being watched. It bugs me that I can't remember the name of this movie.

reply

it sounds like bad ronald. one though hope that helps.

reply

Yes I do remember this movie as well.Dont remember the title though. However I do remember that the reason the boy was hidden in the secret room by his mother was because the police were looking for him. What had happened was that he accidentaly killed another kid when they were fighting or he was being bullied. He shoved the other girl down and the other girls head landed on some bricks. So she hides him in the room. She dies other family moves in and so forth.I remember the boy drawing weird pictures of the devil or the Duke as referenced in the film on his wall. That is what really scared me.

reply

Yes The movie is called Bad Ronald.Pretty creepy.

reply

I'm fairly certain you're talking abour The Canterville Ghost. There have been several versions of this movie, but the one I remember from the 80's starred John Guilgud as the ghost and Alyssa Milano as the girl trying to help him.

reply

I might as well give mine a shot too...
The first is maybe a TV movie from the 70s that I remember my mom watching. There was a man whose wife was being tormented by these three creepy creatures that somehow came out of a film. Maybe he was being tricked by smeone with a projector, but I didn't see the whole thing.
The other is about some astronauts who crashland on a weird tropical planet and are attacked by spiders and plant creatures. Think that was the 70s too.

reply

alot of memories with these movies growing up in the 80`s. both your movies ring a bell. just can`t recall the name of the movies. maybe you people knows this title. early 80`s movie. a monster attacking ski town resort?

reply

That one sounds like "Snowbeast".

reply

i have one for you....it is an early-80's slasher which ends with the "nice" fat guy( i think he had a curly fro) helping the heroine to dispose of the"killer" into a furnace(in a school or something)...turns out the nice fat dude WAS the killer.....can anyone help me with the title on this one??? saw it as a kid and it freaked me out!

That sounds like the scene from Excalibur where Percival first encounters the grail. I am probably wrong, but that was my 1st reaction. Wait, no in Excalibur he is forced into the river by some angry townsfolk along with a scraggy Lancelot. Sorry, can't really help here.

The first reminds me of that episode of Circle of Fear/Ghost Story TV series, where monsters from horror movies came to life in a ghostly way. I think John Astin was it. But may have been more than 3 and not a man's wife.

The second sounds similar to The Angry Red Planet (1960). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052564/
They land on Mars, is tropical, carnivourous plants, and 40 foot rat bat spider crab.
I seem to remember another one with smaller spiders tho.
