In the 4th grade,I did a report on Polish leader Lech Walesa.Isn't this movie based on his story?

Well, yes and no. The story of the film is the story of the strike which Lech Walesa fronted. Lech Walesa appears in person throughout the film. However he is in the background, it is not a biographical study of Lech Walesa...

That's it. Anna Walentynowicz, another Solidarity activist makes cameo, but it's only to give this picture more credibility.
