Is there a car chase scene?

I vaguely remember a car chase with the bad guys in black cars (maybe 2 to 5 cars) chasing the hero. But I'm not sure it's this movie...

Please help me for my unsolved cinema researches (see my profile, thanks!)

It rings a bell, but it's been a while since I've seen the movie. As far as I recall, they were on a hillside, sort of southern-european looking place. A pretty generic chase though, like it could have been in any Bond movie. So, to clarify, you may well be right. But bad-guys in black cars pop up in a lot of movies.

Yep they did. The black cars were Porsche's early 1980's 911 model to be exact. For a Disney picture, this film did have a great chase sequence with the cars going up against conderman's pimped out yellow sport's car.

Brightly coloured but condorman's car wasn't bad at all!

He actually kill them off in rather interesting ways though it be a comedy adventure film from Walt Disney.

The Condorcar is a modified Nova GT, based on a Beetle, designed as a mix of a Ford GT and a Lamborghini Muira. They were designed in England with the name "Nova GT", but when they were sold in the states, they had to change the name (for obvious reasons) and called it the Sterling.

It was yellow with a huge brown condor painted on the bonnet with its wings spread along the side of the car. The backend was extended to include a huge jet engine, and house the machine guns and rocket special effects. The interior shots were done with two canopy inner skins, a whole one for filming head on driving shots, and the other was cut in half for the side close-ups. The dashboards with TV monitors and rocket targets were all made by the company commissioned by Walt Disney.

Four Novas were made (by Ellams) for the film. One of these didn't have the floorpan lowered, this can clearly be seen when the car is chased off a pier and miraculously turns into a hovercraft and escapes. The water born version is only seen from behind and as the rear end was modified so much its not clear if it is actually the second body shell.

Another Nova was used during the chase scene when special guards emerge from the cars body to protect the windscreen and an enemy car (Porsche kit) drives right over the Condorcar like a ramp. This stunt car must have been reinforced to take the other cars weight. Then there's the road going car for all long shots, this car was lost for many years, but has now been found.

Yeah it was in a "sort of southern-european looking place". You're right. Thanks

it has been over 15 years since I've seen this but I can still shed some light.

Condorman is driving on a hillside in a van (i think white van) then he sees the black porsches pull up. He then presses a few buttons on his dashboard, and the seat lowers. Then the van shell blows off in the wind and THEN he's in his yellow sports car.

Was a great car chase for me when I was about 8. lol.

wow, I didn't rememeber that van-changing-to-sport-car!!!
But I agree it was a great car chase when I was 8 too!

Wasn't he in a gypsy disguise and driving in a gypsy house/truck? I remember them descending into the car, jettisoning the house/truck and one of the black cars crashing into it.

I have to try tracking this down now and watching it. It's probably been 25 years since I've seen it.

Yes, I've got the DVD (unfortunately 4:3 format)
The scene is in Palovnia, Yugoslavia. Then Condorman and Natalia are in the cabin of a gypsy-living wagon/truck. They arrived to the town and nobody is on the streets.
Later 5 porsches fllow the truck to stop condorman. The bad guy leader had a radar on the roof called Morovich.
Then inside the truck is condorman's car. Very nice for 1983 movie.
First and second cars destroyed by fire
third and fourth by a ramp on the hood (condorman's car)
The fifth (radar) did not destroyed.
