DVD?

Condorman DVD retails for $100+, what's the deal there? I can't find this movie anywhere. This is unfortunate as I am sure I am not the only one who wants to own this movie.

It doesn't retail for $100, some j-hole is just selling his copy for that much. You could always write to Anchor Bay entertainment and see if they will ever press any more copies anytime soon, I somehow doubt it, but I'd certainly like a copy. www.anchorbayentertainment.com Smaller companies who retain the rights to lesser movie fare, not huge blockbuster crud, will print so many copies and sell them off and wait around until there is enough of a demand to press more copies. I am of course speaking only of the widescreen released by Anchor Bay. If you're one of the few who doesn't care if it's widescreen, the UK has it on DVD, check out:

Make sure you have a DVD player that plays Region 2 discs or better yet, a Region-Free DVD player. I've said my piece, hope it is helpful.

You know, being as the movie is now 25 YEARS OLD, there should be DVD release. But whatever. I just saw it again for the first time in years last night. HILARIOUS!

We gotta get a petition going to bring back Condorman on DVD.

It's not up to Anchor bay if they want to make any more. Disney took the rights back. That's why it goes for so much. It's long out of print. i wish Disney would release it. All the other movies that Disney was allowing Anchor bay to release have since been put out by Disney, like The Black Hold or Return to Oz. I bought the Region 2 version dvd & it has to be THE worst dvd tranfer I have ever seen in my life. It looks like it was recorded onto an old Beta tape in 1982, watched 100 times, then tranfered to dvd.

This movie deserves a decent DVD release with anamorphic transfer 16/9 compatible and some nice bonus : audio commentary by the cast, trailers, featurettes and image gallery (with lobby cards and posters)

reply

Just agreeing with everyone else that this needs to be put on DVD ASAP. It's fabulous.

yeah Condorman Rules. His jalopy RV thingy with seats sinking into the weird green light and out revs that hot rod. I liked him better than Bond for way too long probably. a DVD with extras detailing his gadgets would be cool.

i am not telling anybody what to do or not do, but my mother found this movie on ebay for like 15 bucks. i'm pretty sure it is a really well made bootleg from europe.

i had 2 copies and sold one for 180.00 and the other for 125.00 on amazon, but i did see a copy the other day at a local game stop and almost bought it but it was 45

I would keep an eye on it.... I heard a rumor that Gamestop is getting out of the movie biz and going straight games. Barnes & Noble (who owns them) is putting in new/used movie stores now... can't remember what they called them. At any rate... it is possible they will start clearancing everything... most will do a buy 2 get 2 free deal anyway... you could pick it up on that and offset the cost. Gamestop card would save you however much on top.

I'm having the same trouble finding it too.... I LOVED that movie as a kid.... I really hope I can buy it for a "reasonable" price soon.

BoomJ.com has it for <$20. It's region 1, dvd, and it comes in a nice case with cd label. They have two versions, one from 2003 and I'm not sure what the difference is.

Can't believe the DVD is so rare in the US. I ordered it years ago on Reel.com (was a great store in those days)as it came out. For 950$ (can't believe it) it is yours... best shipping possible included :o))))))))

Amazon is selling used copies for $199 each.
The only release was in 2003 I think, and was for $14.99 new. The problem is this DVD is 4:3 format, so that's like a person w/out harms.
Anyways, I hope Disney can release a new 16:9 format with extras. Unfortunately Disney has been anti-consumer in many ways, like his counterpart Sony.
