Condorman reference in 'Kick-Ass'(sort of)

At the beginning of the movie "Kick-Ass", they show a dude dressed up similarly to Condorman. They show him jumping off the top of a building and crashing headfirst onto the roof of a car. Reminded me A LOT of the opening scene where Michael Crawford(in Condorman attire) jumps off the tower and lands in the river. When I saw the beginning of Kick Ass, that was the first thing I thought of. Has anyone seen this movie to vouch for that? Or am I only one on here who has seen the movie and noticed a sorta connection. That should be a clue that Condorman should be re-released on DVD. Perhaps "Shout! Factory" should do the releasing/remastering since Disney only wishes to sell it in an exclusive club online.

Unless the creators of the Kick-Ass comic come out and say it, I'm thinking 'no'.

The central idea of CONDORMAN (ordinary and inept guy wanting to be an actual super hero who gets involved in a situation that lets him live out his 'dream') is certainly shared by KICK ASS and their similar opening scenes depict the obvious comedy of the concept.

Obviously, but what's your point?

My point is....WHY ISN'T CONDORMAN GETTING DVD TREATMENT(And not just in exclusive clubs or bootlegs!)?????

Just recently got a copy of this and not seen it a LONGGGG time but, anywho...

After seeing the opening to this, my first thought was the same as your's. I don't think it's too far out of the realm of possibility that Vaughn might have seen this as a kid(he'd have been the perfect age, around 10, when it came out in theaters) and it later provided inspiration for "Kick-Ass".

**edit**BTW, this IS on DVD and you can find copies on Amazon, Ebay and the like.

It'll be like Luke Duke and the other guy.
Really?
Yeah.
NO!
