Who saw this when they were a kid and was surprised by the gypsy truck!

I was 8 OR 9 years old and i remember that those porsche turbos were gaining on a old gypsy truck. Then the seats went down and the whole cinema turned green, from the illuminated display inside the car. Then the yellow car flew out.

That was the first time that a film really surprised me. I recently put the dvd on for my girlfriend's nephew, and his jaw dropped. That moment still works for a kid.

And yeah I shed a tear. I have memories of this, as my grandad was ill at the time and we were taken to the cinema to distract us from the everyday.

Yeah, that was my favorite scene as a kid too.

I used to play with matchbox and hotwheels cars... and had a yellow corvette or something I pretended was the condor car, and I ripped the bottom off of a pickup truck trying to hide the yellow one under it as a camouflage... they never fit together and it looked more like a doubledecker car, but fond memories.

I never saw it at the cinema, saw it for the first time on video in the mid '80s. That's easily the best part though.

Yeah, I just recently saw it again and wow, that is better than currently CGI. Never thought about what was inside the gypsy truck, very clever and nobody guess until the condor-car gets out of the truck. Funny to see only the frame of the truck lay behind in the highway :)
