How did Conan's father's sword end up in the cave? Bit of a long stretch of the imagination, assuming it is the same sword?

The sword Conan finds in the cave is the sword of the skeleton sitting on the throne. The sword Rexor uses to attack Conan at the battle of the mounds formerly belonged to Conan's father.

Why would you assume when if you actually look at the swords they're clearly not the same. I'm baffled by your logic.
