Is it safe to watch the Medusa scenes directly on a TV screen?

Or should I watch only the reflection of the screen in a mirror or polished shield? I do have a mirror I can use, but no polished shield, and I just want to be certain before viewing, you can understand!

I'm not talking about VHS, of course. The low-res would almost certainly not turn an unwary viewer to stone. But I have a Blu-ray player, which could conceivably boost the resolution into the danger zone, and you can't be too careful with children in the room.

Thanks for any info. Spoilers appreciated!

Looking forward to this flick, but even Harryhausen isn't worth the risk.

NO!! Whatever you do don't watch it directly. I was watching "Clash of the Titans" with my cousin in HD and I am sad to say he turned to stone when he looked at Medusa during the scene in the movie. Nothing has worked trying to make him right again, he is lost. I was lucky I went to the kitchen to grab a drink during the scene, when I came back in I noticed he was turned to stone. I screamed he should have used the back of his shield to watch that scene but it was too late. I am suing the makers and distributors of this movie and demanding they find a way to save my cousin.

Oh! So that's why I got that terrible acne in my teens! And I saw it at the drive-in too ;.)

Everything is 19

A few people died back in the 80s but it's pretty safe now.

Yeah but that was in the cinema and a couple got turned to stone off that big laser disc thing. No one got it off VHS or DVD but I hear they have several new cases since Blu Ray came out. I wouldn’t chance it.
