Awesome Movie

I was born in Marshall, MO and lived in Marshall during the making of this movie. My Dad and his brother was two of the Children that lived at Tom Butterfield Ranch. My dad has told me stories of his time in the Ranch and everything he had to say was good. I remember seeing pictures of him, his brother and a few other children that lived in the Butterfield Ranch, they was i think the 22cd and 23rd Children in the Ranch. I know back then and still today all the kids still have a hard time makeing it thru there with everyone in town. My mom told me that the way they show the kids being treated in the movie is really how they was treated back then. I had several friend that lived in the Butterfield Ranch. I almost got to be in the movie while it was being made at the age of 5 years old but we lived about 30 miles from Marshall at the time in the country and we had to have white tee shirts, and wouldn't you know we did not. The Ranch has come a long way as Toms niece said, it has several places outside of town and severl homes in town. Last time i went out that way the house that Tom lived in when he started the Ranch was still standing, and was still in use but i have not been that way in a long time. I think i am going to make a trip out there the next time i am in Marshall. Almost all my family still lives in Marshall and a lot of them work at the Marshall Rehabilation Center that Tom worked at. I really enjoyed this movie not only cause it was the town i lived in and born in but because it is true and makes you realize how things are and were. If you have not had a chance to see this movie you really should. Awesome movie..............
