Where's the DVD?!?!

Zadora. Wells. What other reasons could we possibly need?!

"Where's the DVD?!?!"

Yeah, that's what I want to know!

My DVD collection is sorely lacking in Pia Zadora content. While her films obviously won't appeal to everyone, Pia has a fan following and 'Butterfly' and 'The Lonely Lady' should each get a proper DVD release.

My opinion is that if a film was fairly popular at one time, even if it has long been forgotten, it deserves a decent DVD edition. This means (at minimum) no transfer from an old VHS copy, digital remastering and at least one trailer. I don't think that is too much to ask, and this movie would qualify for such treatment since it caused at least some ripples when it was released.

For what it's worth.... I just checked Amazon.com, typed in "Butterfly DVD Pia Zadora" and got a hit. They're selling it for about $19.90.

I have this, on DVD, more reasonably priced. R.

the Amazon listing seems to be a non-region one import, or possibly a poorly made bootleg...

One Amazon purchaser says: "This DVD, put out by a company called New Star Video, will not play in my dvd players. ISN# 0-29502-00295-4 DVD label is Black - no artwork. No mention on package if Widescreen, Stereo, Close Captioned, etc. Also, there is no mention of the film's original release date (1981), or the movie's total runtime (length of the film). And to top it off, there is no phsical street address or web address for "New Star Video" anywhere to be found on the packaging or disc label. Is this some sort of bootleg release?"

DVD NEEDED! Preferably a digital master from original negs with extras like the rock video from the same era, a "women in prison" mini-parody of Elvis' "Jailhouse Rock," with Pia shedding her top (back to camera)in the opening frames.Hell, a box-set of "The Films of Matt Cimber" should be a Criterion priority!!! dAMMIT!

Who else would like to cooperate in a website DEMANDING a proper release? I have obtained an appropriate domain name:

http://www.butterfly-dvd.org

No content as I write, but something should be there within 48 hours of this post; I plan to create a FULLY OPEN wiki that will allow anybody to contribute/participate WITHOUT divulging personal info.

Let's get this thing done!
