Burning vs Sleepaway Camp

Just watched them both for the first time after years of putting it off.

Sleepaway Camp gets my vote. I actually kind of dig Sleepaway Camp.

I think The Burning might be the better movie, especially when it comes to the acting, but Sleepaway Camp is certainly more memorable.

reply

I like both, but Sleepaway Camp gets my vote.

reply

I prefer The Burning, but it's mainly because the ending of SC had been given away before I watched it.

reply

I had a similar problem, in that I didn't know the ending, except it was sort of given away in the DVD case I had. (I had all the movies in one DVD case.)

Didn't think much of The Burning somehow though. So I'll go with Sleepaway Camp.

reply

I like them both but I really like the characters in Sleepaway Camp more.

reply

I think Sleepaway Camp’s most memorable thing is the ending. I like it but without it, I think it would be kind of average and forgettable.
I think The Burning wins out on kills/gore alone.

reply

Sleepaway Camp because of the ending.

reply

Sleepaway Camp. Not just for the ending. The Burning is good, but it is like so many other slashers. I think what I like about Sleepaway Camp is there is a real nastiness to it. The bad acting, the perversion of some of the kills, the fact that they kill kids and not just teenagers, and the WTF aunt, all put it ahead of the Burning for me.

reply

I agree. The boat accident in the beginning was a shocker then it fast forwards to the scene where the WTF aunt is getting the kids ready to go to camp. It’s just perfect somehow. Lol

reply

I like them both

How about throwing My Bloody Valentine into the mix?

I liked it the least of the 3.

reply

My Bloody Valentine is great too
