Companies who should release this gem on DVD

There are plenty of DVD labels who could put this out on DVD or even Blu Ray. The most likely one I think would be Vinegar Syndrome. If not them, then Synapse, Code Red, or Scorpion Releasing. Other 80s films that I think should receive a release or re-release are...

Rawhead Rex (1986)
The Unnamable (1988)
Spookies (1986)
The Slayer (1982)
In the shadow of Kilimanjaro (1986)
The Incubus (1982)
Silent Scream (1980)
Too scared to Scream (1985)
Mortuary (1983)
Alligator (1980)
Funeral Home (1980)
The Cellar (1989)
Nightmares (1983)
Beyond Evil (1980)
One dark Night (1983)
Scared to Death (1981)
Ghostkeeper (1981)
Sweet 16 (1983)
Home sweet Home (1981)
Dark Age (1987)
Kindred (1987)
Blue Monkey (1987)
Mindkiller (1987)
The Brain (1988)
Terrorgram (1988)
Watchers (1988)
Edge of the Axe (1988)
Clownhouse (1989)
Grim praire Tales (1989)
Night Life (1989)
Fright Night 2 (1989)
Killer Crocodile (1989)

It is on DVD

Is it a proper quality release or one of the many VHS to DVD transfers that are out there?
I'd love to see a fully restored version.

I have a copy of the JAM Entertainment release from Germany. It is a good quality transfer. The menu is in German and has a default German audio but the English audio can be selected from the audio setup. Only downside is the fact it is 1.33:1 and not 1.85:1. I note that the Deep 13 release refers to full screen. I suspect this is 1.33:1 however some companies now use full screen to refer to 1.78:1 in light of widescreen TVs. Can anyone confirm the actual aspect ratio of the deep 13 release?
Also note the JAM version is 84 minutes. The Deep 13 is 88 minutes. Given the speed up of Pal vs NTSC the Jam version is the same run time as the Deep version. IMDB lists the run time as 92 minutes so 4 minutes of scenes have been edited out. Bummer...

That seems odd I know, I don't have the JAM version but I hear it has a scene deleted that is on the DVD that runs for over 2 mins.
I have a NTSC vhs bootleg that is 88:33mins (multiplied by 1.04 to get the PAL runtime out at roughly just over 92mins). I know the German versions cut out plot scenes allegedly to shorten the film to fit it on cheaper VHS tapes which seems tight fisted especially to continue the trend onto DVD releases.

You need to divide by 1.04 to get PAL. PAL runs faster so the runtime is shorter than NTSC. This gives a PAL equivalent of 85 minutes.

Ah sorry. I've had a sleepy week, brain's a bit slow. I also listed the wrong running time for my copy, it's 89:33mins running at 29fps. I believe it to be fully uncut. I know the German release apparently adds some stuff with monster hands but the creature has no hands, the swimsuit & lighting don't match the scenes, I really disregard that version, it seems to cut out real exposition scenes from the film to add more unofficial horror scenes. Least that's what I believe.

Great list man, especially I would love to have The Slayer, The Kindred, Blue Monkey, The Brain, and Killer Crocodile. Cross off Nightmares, Scream Factory, a great quality company is releasing that on Blu-Ray this month, can't wait to pick that up. You mentioned Scorpion, Scorpion released Mortuary on both Blu-Ray and DVD but they are now very hard to obtain. Beyond Evil received a Troma DVD release, the movie is pretty crappy so that pretty much got the release it deserved. Alligator has a solid UK DVD release which I have in which it includes the sequel, you can still get that pretty cheap if you have a region free player.

I would add Berserker, Fatal Games, Nightwish, The Dark Side of the Moon, and Proteus (1995). I really enjoy Proteus and Nightwish and don't mind Berserker (idea is much better than execution) and Fatal Games so they should get some kind of decent release in my opinion. I also didn't mind Spookies and enjoyed Fright Night 2 so I certainly agree with those.
