The movie is sooo good! Read!

WOW, this movie was ridicuously hard to find! I go it for $18 on ioffer.com....it's a million times better than ebay or amazon!
But OH MY GOD! This movie was sooooo good! The performances were really believable! And Jennifer was absolutely amazing! She wasted down to 86 lbs.?! Jesus! I hope Jennifer did was ok physically and mentally during and after the film, but her physical appearance really made this film believable. The reason I am saying this, is because almost every E.D. movie I have seen so far, the so called anorexic girls in the movie are skinny for sure, but NOT like Jennifer in this movie. I really believed that Jennifer was anorexic. And you just felt sorry for her. She barely spoke the whole movie, and she just had this very sad look on her face the whole movie. The actor who played her father was an *beep* but he was really good. And I liked that his character had layers to him. On top there was this angry, out of control tempered father and then underneath there was this sweet, caring, loving father that he only showed sometimes.
I didn't like the Carol character - ick. Her hair made her look so ugly! But I think that was a kind of look of the day.

I mean this movie was better than For the Love of Nancy, A Secret Between Friends, A Perfect Body, etc.
This movie was the best ED movie by far! All the others I mentioned, the characters didn;t look like they were anorxic at all. They just had make-up on them to make them look pale. It just reminds the audiece that yep, it's just a movie. In Little Girl, you feel like it's *beep* real, and that's what scares me off of being anorexic.
What does everyone else think?

BLGW isn't on the internt. Go to ioffer.com to buy it. This film deals moslty with her eating disorder caused by her family and feeling unloved - she became anorexic because she wanted to to noticed by her family - no gym coach or a friend told her she needed to lose weight - it was caused because she wanted to control her life because she hated how her family ignored her. It was a very sad film, actually - really touching on the surface of what an ED is.
The Secret movie was good, but I hated how her mom babied her - very unrealistic in my opinion. Same thing in a Perfect Body. Though the two girls in that movie were very good and convincing, I don't feel like they gave (0r the movies allowed them to give) the sadness and the scariness of an ED.
I think The Best Little Girl is an ED trigger much more than the other two - mostly b/c it seems real - like she was in a real family, with real problems. Jennifer Jason Leigh gave an AMAZING performance!! WOW! She looked anorxic, and it sure was very freightening.
I think she was ok, because on imdb.com it says she lost weight under medical supervison. And then the next yr. she was in Fast Times at Ridgemont High and looked healthy (even a with a little bit extra on her I think). I have a feeling she was smart enough not to actually become anorexic.
I dunno I just LOVE The Best Little Girl. You have to see it if u like ED movies. It's the best most realistic one. Plus I think it was like that because back then, I don't think they were as careful with not putting ED triggers in there. In the ones made in the 90s they were more lame bc they couldn't put as many triggers...if that makes sense.

I'll believe it, but For The Love of Nancy was rather powerful as well. Tracey Gold herself has suffered with the disorder for years. She was still in the process of recovery when filming her role in For The Love of Nancy. If she didn't look like it, it's probably because they actually made her 'look better' than she really was.

You're awesome, ty! I've been looking for this for AGES; it's one of those tv movies one sees as a child that just sticks in your brain for the rest of your life.
