Ariel was born on 1965, technically she's only 14 during the making of the film...
Is it legal that a 14 year old girl be involve in a mature scenes like in the movie? She's underage,right?

It was made in France where they have different rules regarding age of consent, nudity, etc.

In fact Ariel was almost 16 yo. when the film was shot in the course of 1981..
Not underaged then & no explicit sex sequences, or offensive filming.

Her breasts and nipples are fondled on-screen. That could be considered a explicit sex sequence. Ariel turned 15 in October 1980; the movie was released in 1981, but is not clear to me when filming took place.

I highly doubt this movie was filmed in 1981 as an earlier poster said. I'm sure if was probably filmed in 1980 (and released in 1981). If she turned 14 in October of 1980, then she was OLDEST 15 and possibly still 14 at the time (in some scenes).

You may be right that the movie was possibly filmed in 1980. That's usually the case in Hollywood, where movies are expensive productions that take many months (or years) to film, edit, and release. OTOH, this is a low-budget French movie that was possibly wrapped in a few months, so it may or may not have been filmed in 1981, the same year it was released.

I disagree that she turned 14 in 1980. She was born in October of 1965... and although she was almost 16 when the movie was released, she was likely 15 (or turned 15) during filming. Then again, standards for what was acceptable have changed over time (consider Brooke Shields' nudity in Pretty Girl), and have always been different across the Atlantic.

Sorry, I meant to type that she turned 15 in 1980, not 14. That was a typo on my part. It's safe to say she was 15 years old during the filming of this movie.

The age of consent is--or was--15 in France, provided the older partner is not in a position of authority or power over the youth. Therefore there was no concern with her age in filming this.

The age of consent is indeed 15 in France, as far as I know, but it only means people can have sex once they're 15. Pornographic actors need to be 18. Even watching a pornographic movie is forbidden before 18.

Anyway the movie doesn't qualify as a pornographic movie. It didn't back then, it wouldn't now. So the age of the actress is not relevant. Besides, in the 80s in France breasts and nudity were commonly seen in movies and not considered as questionable as they now are, even though this movie was designed to be provocative even for the standards of the time.
