Why did he stay in the theatre all day?

Maybe I missed something but why does he stay in the porno theatre until he transforms? Surely he was there for several hours? My only guess is that he was talking to his ghostly friends the entire time and lost track of time, but I figure they would tell him "hey, you're about to transform again in a few minutes, you should go home and kill yourself." I'd at least go home and try to barricade myself in or something. But unless I missed something, it seems he just stayed in the theatre for at least 6 hours.
