ANY GOOD?

this is only 99p in my local tesco, is it that bad?

It's actually pretty entertaining, though the scripting isn't particularly good. And while Robert Mitchum sleepwalks through his villainous role in the Cliff Robertson vein, Lee Majors, while hardly convincing as an advertising exec, is very appealing throughout.

I liked it, just for its strangeness. It's not a brilliant movie, but if you can get it cheap it's worth a viewing. You can get it for next to nothing on the "Box Office Gold" 50-movie box set, along with lots of other strange stuff (not a bit of which is actually box office gold).

It's pretty bad. The script has allegedly brilliant people doing a lot of things that don't make a lick of sense, there's at least one plot development which could have led to major fireworks that was completely wasted and not followed up on, and Mitchum is clearly phoning it in.

The Sphynx, what's the plot development to which you're referring? Anyway, I'd give the movie 7/10. It's a fascinating idea and a great cast, but the cinematography and direction are just average, and the low budget weighs down on the movie a little bit.

Sorry, I can't remember that plot development two years later. And I am definitely not prepared to sit through this turkey again to find out!

I was looking back trying to trace how we got to crazy and this title was referenced in relation to corporate/ political/subliminal media paranoia. Found a washed out stream copy that never the less is interesting, if not good. Nothing new but Themes and premise could hold up to a remake update and a far better film might be hiding here. Depending on time and your tolerance of formulaic, mediocre filmmaking pop paranoia fans might enjoy this. Saul Rubinek brings an energized performance here. Canadian support is ok. Everyone else has career remorse in their eyes. Toronto as NYC and adv culture laughably lame. Use the ff, it's a predictable, plot driven 90 minutes, enjoy in 50.
