Episode Hitman

In the episode Hitman with Merlin Olson stock footage from "Final Chapter Walking Tall" was used where Bo Svenson as Buford busts the Three Dueces and torches it with flairs.

Yes,that was Pusser's revenge for fixing his car brakes and rolling it down an embankment.I never did understand why they used this piece. The 3 Dueces had nothing to do with this episode, and neither did the early 70s Impala Pusser drove up to the place. It was obviously a way to save money and production time. But even an idiot could figure out it should NOT have been inserted in a TV show some years later.Sorta reminds me of NBC's "Highwayman" where multiple scenes from the previous week's episode was recycled in a new episode. You can tell when they "Jump the Shark" when you see footage reused over and over.

The "Clover Club" portrayed in this episode was an obvious play on the "Shamrock",which was in reality an actual "State line gang" operated hotel/restaraunt/gambling casino/prostitution "destination".

The rolled over and burnt Dodge Monaco of Pusser's in this episode could also have been symbolism for his 1974 Corvette crash/fire that actually took his life back in 1974.(Pusser jumped out in this TV crash though).

The character of John Whitter was a renamed villan...the real one,a Mr White ran the State Line gang.

Why do you think they did that???
