Did Lum and Ataru ever get married? I'm talking anywhere including the movies, direct to video releases or the comics.

shareThey don't actually get properly married in Inuba the dreammaker, it's just looking at all the possible theories. Although you would assume with Inuba using the doorhandle that it may pan out although I think inuba the dream maker is one of the OVAs. I wouldn't really consider it as them properly getting married, similar to the sakura episode, they get married in a dream.
I've watched all of the OVAs and movies, and most of the episodes except maybe the last 7 and 3 or so inbetween. They haven't gotten properly married so far although they kind of get close in some, such as the movie with elle in.
They are engaged from the start of the TV show.
As many have mentioned, the only hint they would marry in the future was in the Inaba The Dreammaker OVA, where Ataru tries a set of alternate doorknobs to make a future dream for himself. What I don't remember if they actually would come true, but in one of those, Lum does marry Ataru. Also, Ataru did make a doorknob earlier in that episode where Ataru had lots of womem living with him, but soon the dream turns into a nightmare when he realizes he still feels miserable without Lum, even if he had all the womem he wanted.
Regardless, the fifth animated movie The Last Chapter(which is the final story in comic) ends without us ever knowing definatly if they were going to marry, though it's painfully obvious that there's true love between the two.
Thank you everyone. As you can probably tell from all my posts, I'm more of a 1950's Science Fiction guy but I do happen to love the comics and tv shows of Urusei Yatsura as well as Star Blazers. One thing I don't understand though... one or two of you mentioned that in one episode Ataru got married to Sakura. When did this happen and what episode was THIS?
