SCTV Finally Being Released On DVD

At long last, this classic show is finally being released on DVD. There was always something very magical about this low budget sketch comedy program that was, and still is, shown very late at night--a time slot guaranteed to produce failure, but the enduring appeal and brilliant comedic talent of its writers and cast members couldn't be denied and the show has now become a classic.

Harold Ramis, Catherine O' Hara, Eugene Levy and the late great John Candy are but a few of it's famous alum that have gone on to bigger and better things. This is definitely one for my DVD collection!

Good, now i'll be able to separate my friends from my enemies

Friends: My friends who do not purchase this DVD

Enemies: My ex-friends who purchased this DVD

There's also a third group: My Heroes: Friends who purchased the DVD not knowing how horrible this show is, watched it, then ran the DVDs over with their car.

Kill Bill: Volume 1 is awesome!
Volume 2 is even better!

I just posted this on the John Candy board:

Just saw an ad to buy SCTV on tv here in the U.S. There is a special tribute to John candy on there as well.

I take it you're not an SCTV fan?

OK all you SCTV fans, it's put up or shut up time. If you're a fan and you've been dying for the DVD, dust off your credit card, get your ass to Best Buy and buy the DVD to ensure that we'll get the rest. No whining allowed about the price, keep the kids in the same shoes for another few months if you have to.

Whoa man. I don't look for friends on a message board sport, I suggest you do the same, you'll be much happier.

If this person thinks SCTV is "horrible" then what in Heaven's name do they think is a "good" show?

Absolute insanity.

As for the price. When you consider these are 90-minute shows (2 shows per disk so about 180 minutes a disk minus commercial time) it is actually in line with other releases.

I mean, I paid about $65 for Volume 3 which contains 5 disks so that's roughly $13 a disk which is about what you pay for any other DVD.

To mrp or any1 who disrespects this two-time emmy winning(eight-time emmy nominated), greatest sketch show of all-time:give massive h*** to ya exhaust while the engine is running then run yourself over with your car, but you prolly don't have a car so get some fat person to ride your scooter and run you over with that instead!
