Miami Twice

I seem to remember this being really bad but I just rewatched it and it's actually OK once you get past the implausible premise that Del Boy looks just like a mafia boss. Not one of the best episodes, but still entertaining.

"Worthington, we're being attacked by giant bats!"

It's just about watchable. I don't think the missing laughter track does it any favours either to be fair.

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time Del Boy, it's them that started me drinking!

I remember at the time it got mixed reviews but it's got better with age I think and it's still better than 'nasty del' in a royal flush.

It seems to be one of them episodes that splits opinion. Personally I've always liked it. And I do think David Jason did pull of the Mafia Don appearance every well. Some say it's an implausible situation, but isn't that the entire point of comedy?

Miami Twice to me felt like an attempt to go for a feature film version of the show. For one thing there is incidental music which feels much more intergrated than it did with the following episodes where it came off as quite jarring. An another reason why some people not like it is the drastic difference in the way it was made.

They once played a repeat that had the laughter track on it, it made the world of difference.
