Are you American?

I may be a huge fan, but I'm certainly not a fanboy.

It matters?! I am from Romania !

Maybe its the british sense of humour that you dont get. In Britain only fools and horses has been loved for over 30 years and the characters over here are iconic. Everybody young or old has pretty much seen it. It certainly deserves its 8.9 rating if not higher.

I think British sitcoms will always score a tad lower on here than what they maybe deserve, due to there being a very large percentage of Americans on IMDB. We all get their humour, but a lot of ours will go straight over their heads. No offence intended 😉

I'm not sure why you would criticise a show that is not presented in your first language or representative of your culture. Is it possible that's the reason that you didn't like it and not because the show itself is at fault?

We have to show the world that not all of us are like him: Henning von Tresckow.

No way maybe 3 !!!

8.9 is about right as it's incredibly popular in the UK and that will be where most of the votes come from. I've only ever known one person who didn't like it and that was my miserable uncle.

Only Fools And Horses named Britain's best sitcom in C4 poll

Only Fools And Horses has been named as the nation's favourite British sitcom in a poll conducted by Channel 4.

The network, which revealed a top 50 list in two-part TV show Britain's Best Loved Sitcoms, arrived at the result from a poll of comedy fans conducted earlier this year on their website.

Fawlty Towers was positioned in the number two spot, whilst Blackadder, One Foot In The Grave and Porridge took up the other top 5 places. The full list of all 50 shows featured in Britain's Best Loved Sitcoms is at the bottom of this story.

This is not the first time that Only Fools And Horses has come out top of a major TV poll. A nationwide vote conducted by the BBC in 2004 for its Britain's Best Sitcom series also named the programme as the nation's favourite sitcom.

8.9 ,yeah it's ridiculous, i rated it 10.

reply

me too. it's a hard 10. one of the greatest shows ever made

reply

Anyone voting this a 3 clearly doesn't have a sense of humour.

Ikr

It in no way deserves a 3. OFAH is one of the greatest comedies ever made. It's in a different league to 90% of the comedy shows being made today.

I love the polite British nature to respond to an internet troll with a mature, concise response instead of to attack them, it certainly makes the OP look silly for trying to get a negative response out of people

reply

i give it 6 myself. it is quite funny. Especially the earlier seasons, but became less funny when those tiresome women were introduced - a pity they couldn't have found some funny women to play the girlfriends.

reply

Dude, are you pissed off because of that Romanian Rizling? :D
I'm from Croatia and for me it is the best comedy ever.

reply

It's an entertaining 80's sitcom and deserves at least an eight. Fawlty Towers on the other hand, I really don't get the hype. And I like MP and Cleese.
