Fragments of MASADA seen on Masada

When I was in Israel recently, it was a must for me to visit Masada situated near the Dead Sea, the real fortress where the events of the 1st century A.D. took place. Originally, it used to be one of the palaces of Herod the Great.

When I arrived there, we had a little while of visual presentation of the place. I was astonished when I saw the scenes from the film, particularly the final shot of Silva finding out the dead Jews. "Victory? We have won a rock on the shore of the poisoned sea!" The fact that every tourist visiting Masada is supplied with some moments of the film proves that the movie is a very accurate piece of historical work. Indeed, it is.

No, it doesn't prove that the movie is a very accurate piece of historical work. The miniseries is not in fact based on the historical account. It is based on a novel.
