I liked it

I remember when this show when it was on TV and I thought it was a really sweet program but I had no idea that lead character was gay. I was only 8 or 9 and I didn't understand about homosexuality and I always wondered why my family made such a nasty fuss whenever this show came on TV? Some of the stuff that was said about this show was downright viscious and I never understood why. But years later and thanks to the internet I found out why this show was raked over the coals and unfairly I might add. Sidney was a wonderful character with a big heart who cared very much for the little girl Patty and her Mother and thak god he didn't fall into the negative stereotype of the gay male. He was just an ordinary man who lived a quiet life and was a gentle soul.
