CAN ANYONE RECALL THIS EPISODE?

Can anyone recall, remember this Love, Sidney episode and the name of the actress?

In this episode, there is a beautiful, young, long-haired blonde, professional woman who develops a deep infatuation for Sidney. She doesn't know Sidney's sexual orientation. I seem to recall there is some kind of art gallery scene or such where she blandishes her feminine wiles in a flirtatious attempt to woo Sidney. She is wearing a pull-over, blue, long-sleeve, sweater dress. Sidney not only deflects her come-hither attempts, he scolds her for not wearing a bra underneath her dress. At the end of the episode they both effect a reconciliaion of sorts, where Sidney obliquely reveals his sexual orientation. She seems to understand but not quite, in her own way. She thinks someone has deeply hurt Sidney in the past and rendered him gun-shy of relationships. The episode ends where she leaves Sidney, sympathetic of him, but we're not totally certain she knows Sidney all that accurately. The show's producers probably intended this.

Who was that actress? I never saw her again in any show or movie.

I don't know the actress, but I do recall the episode - I just posted about it in the "Didn't know he was gay" thread.

At the end, right before she leaves, she makes a reference to "whoever 'she' was who broke Sidney's heart." Then, after she's gone, the camera zooms in on the picture on the mantle.

I thought it was pretty clear she didn't know he was gay.

I remember this episode too.

Till that episode I didn't know he was gay either...being 10 years old you just think he's 'eccentric' *shrug*

But one thing I seem to recall is...I don't think it was just cuz Sydney was heart broken, it was also cuz I think his lover died. And he was pining away for his dead lover.

Until that episode I didn't realize he was gay...and at the time you'd know what 'gay' was from Jack Tripper's 'fake gay' character on Three's Company.

FROM Wikipedia:
........co-worker Allison (surprisingly played by Lynne Thigpen, whose regular role on the series as Nancy, Sidney's secretary, had been dropped a few months earlier). Their courtship ends up fizzling out because of Sidney's insisting that since his heart had been broken by his past long-time love so much, he could never love another again. When Allison breaks down into tears following their conversation, she cries "If only she [Sidney's past love] knew what she was missing...........

The episode that has stayed in my head for YEARS was the one where Sydney 'rescues' a teenage prostitute from Central Park.
There was a scene where she ashed her cigarette into an urn of cremated ashes on his mantle. He offers to take her in & help her turn her life around & she agrees but when he wakes in the morning she is gone...I was like 6 when this show was on & for some reason that episode stayed with me!

Alas... how terrible is wisdom when it brings no profit to the wise
