Bimbo blonde trillian WTF?

Just watched the first 3 episodes.
Everything was going fine and I was enjoying what I saw... Until Trillian came along. WTF was the director thinking depicting Trillian this way?

I've read the book four times, the whole trilogy twice. I cannot imagine Trillian this way. Jesus, what a screw up from the makers of the series!

Zooey Deschanel was a perfect Trillian in the movie, pretty much a total opposite of the piece of slut meat character in the series.

I can't continue in the series, I'm so pissed off.

I don't fully agree. I think that this version of Trillian works well (just as Pamela Stevenson's character in Superman Three does)

I know this is an old thread, but I feel I should point out that this is NOT an adaption of the books. It's not an adaption of the radio series.

No version of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is an adaption of the other. They'r all different versions of the same story. They're very independent of each other.

Yeah, I didn't much care for Sandra Dickinson as Trillian (Zooey and the woman from the radio series are much better), but this is just the way the TV version portrays her.

I'm not the only one with a little bit of [crap] in their pants, now am I?

In one of the radio series (I think it's three), Trillian is nagging at Zaphod. Zaphod makes mention that he liked the other Trillian better. Knowing that there were two different actresses for the radio and television show, I always got a kick out of that.

She may have been blonde, but it's fairly clear she's not a "bimbo". Zaphod, if anyone, was the bimbo.
