Todd Field as Samantha's college boyfriend

I have my DVR set to record any program with Todd Field (director or actor). This is how I recently discovered that Todd Field stars in (at least) two episodes as Samantha's college boyfriend. I believe the episodes were from 1987 or so. Anyway, I got a kick out of watching the episodes. This was one of his earliest onscreen roles.
