Too bad Disney Channel did not exist in 1981

As one of the reviewers of this series lamented, this series unfortunately did not last longer because it was not ready for prime time. For the past 40 or so years, television networks do not show many family-oriented TV shows like this one because most people would rather watch action shows and/or sitcoms. Had the Disney Channel, which still shows family programs, existed in 1981 I can see this show being shown on that channel and I suspect that it would have been more successful if it had. Look at Avonlea; that show lasted six seasons on Disney. I doubt it would have lasted one season on any of the Big Four networks.
