Season One

Watching now on Amazon Prime.

Angela was ice cold and borderline Satanic in the early episodes when it came to manipulating everybody and puppeteering Lance to do her dirty work.

It's been years since I watched the show. Didn't she eventually tone it down a bit and grow a tad warmer later on in the series? I know she was always the villainess, but I seem to remember a softer side in later seasons.

reply

Yes, not only did she soften in later seasons, but also developed a sense a humor and had quite a few one-liners.

reply

Yes, very true. But Angela's hatred for Chase still causes her to do some shockingly nasty things even in later years. Won't spoil it for you if you're watching but let's just say she doesn't go soft.

reply

Thanks. I already watched the first time around but couldn't remember much of the earlier seasons.

Geez, and Lorenzo stunk as an actor. Did that ever change?

reply

The first three or four seasons was the best the show ever got. Afterwards, it's slid into shlock.

I agree. I forgot how good the early seasons were. It stunk to high heaven after Chase and Melissa were gone toward the end.

I agree. After Chase, Melissa and Maggie left I only watched out of loyalty. The show never recovered from those huge losses.

The final season was horrid, with Maggie's terrible death in the first episode and then the introduction of characters like Micnael Sharpe, his sister Lauren who was supposed to be the "Maggie replacement"-type character, and last but not least, Genele Ericson.

I always hoped if the series was ever rebooted that season 9 would either be a dream or swept under the rug and completely forgotten. Maggie would be alive, and they could probably go out on a limb and figure out a way to revive Chase and Melissa. But with the failure of "Dallas", that will likely never happen.

Lorenzo Lamas got a lot better as the seasons went on. So did Ana Alicia. They were both pretty young in the beginning and it took them some time to grown into their roles and develop better acting skills. They were both great by the middle of the series.

I actually thought Lamas and Ana-Alicia were perfectly good from day one.

I always thought Lorenzo Lamas was, at the very least, perfectly adequate as Lance right from the start, and he did get better as the show progressed. Ana-Alicia was incredible right from the start and just got more fearless with her performance as the show went on. I think her peak was season 6 when she went off the deep end and kidnapped Kevin. Her scenes with Angela just crackled and she looked on the edge.

reply

She got warmer as the show went on, but I actually liked her best in the first few seasons. She was great as a bitchy grandma! LOL.
