Seasonal error


The events take place in May (we are told the date by Bill at the start). But it was obviously filmed a little earlier, in March/April, as everything's pretty bare with only a few trees beginning to come into leaf. They would have got away with it at any other time of year, but those few weeks make a big difference in southern England - in May the countryside and gardens would be lush with bloom and greenery!

Same thing happens in The Stand. In episode three when the Boulder Free Zone Committee is having it's first meeting/BBQ it's supposed to be be August. However it's very obvious that the trees are just starting to leaf out. It's late March or early April. On my DVD the director, Mick Garris, makes note of this on the commentary.
