Help with old horror films...

Long ago.....late 70's, I was about 8 years old and was up late one night watching tv hoping to come across a good horror film.

I was hoping someone could help me track down two films that I remember coming across that night.

The first one all I can remember was a scene where someone was driving and old 40's model black sedan or limo. They were chasing someone who was running on the road. As they got close to them a large blade sprung from the door and cut the victims down. The passenger in the car was a large man dressed much like a 40's gangster. That's all I can remember of the film. It seemed really scary at the time but then I was only 8.

The second film I never saw but it was a trailer that came on during a commercial break from the above film. The trailer showed a painting of a hand and on each finger of the hand was a severed head. The narrator said the film was so scary that they could not show scenes on television. For some reason I seem the remember the title as "guts" or "grits" or something like that. Again I was only 8 so I could be way off on the title but I am sure of the painting of the hand and heads...

Do either of these ring a bell to anyone out there?

Thanks ahead of time.....and good horror to you all!

Pretty sure that the first one is Horror Hospital from 1973. I'd have to dig out my DVD, but I believe that the character dressed like a gangster is Dr. Storm, played by Michael Gough.

The second one doesn't ring a bell, though. I was about the same age then, and I was always on the lookout for those TV spots. Many of them scared the crap out of me...
