Being 38 and not seeing this series before, I was transfixed. Watching BBC's The Planets (of which I watched in it's first run in 1999) made me want to do some more exploring of the Universe.
Contact is my favourite Sci-Fi film, so it's great to hear from The Master himself.
An old guy like myself grins a little to read that kind of comment, because it really was a good series, and Sagan, for all his faults, did have a very educationally-seductive quality to his tone that made you want to learn more about the universe around us.
I was already heavily into reading science books at the time, but Sagan's series really helped spread the word about the importance of scientific knowledge.
