Who sang the title song for "Butterflies"?

The version of "Love is Like a Butterfly" usually played on the radio is the Dolly Parton version, but who sang the one used for the TV series? I haven't seen the series for some years (decades, even), but I seem to recall that the song sounded like it was sung by a British singer - "butterfly", not "buddrrfly", and "soft", not "saahhft".

Clare Torry sang the song.

For all you rockers out there, Clare Torry was also the screaming female voice in the song "Great Gig In The Sky" which appears on the classic Pink Floyd album Dark Side Of The Moon.
