How wonderfully ironic, that Jeremy Irons, the star of Brideshead Revisited, the ITV series that poisoned the Borgias in 1981, went on to star in the Borgias in 2011!!
Also, does anyone agree with me that it is a bit strange to knock an Italian actor starring in a series based in Rome? (even if he's playing a Catalan!) I say "(s)forza Celi!"
I'm sure Italians must get sick of Italian characters with plummy English accents...
