This series is the same as the movie but longer right?

Sorry for the stupid question. I just havn't been able to figure it out. So this is a longer version of the movie, cut up into different sections, released for television?
Thanks

Yes. You can see that the runtime for the mini series is 293 minutes.

Yes, this is a longer version of the movie. And the DVD, at least my 2 disk Nordic PAL DVD, is a single continuous 282 minutes long movie, not separate TV episodes. (282 not 293 because of 25/24 speed up of PAL format)

The EUROVIDEO version on VHS is the longest on.
It contains 351 minutes.
It's only available in german.
I have one here in canada, and i would like to sell it.
Please inquire at: [email protected]

don't subject yourself to the torture like I did stick with the movie. Scenes are often cut from a movie for a good reason.

and how did you then understand it?
i should run 5min for you to understand,
that it was already too long for you ;-)

Torture watching the Series?
I had only ever seen the Movie till this past week and by God there was no torture whatsoever.
The 293 minutes (4H 53M) is by far much better than the Movie of only 2H 29M and the 2 parts that some people say might be missing were definitely in the Series, I well remember the flippant one saying great Speech, Huh?
and the men yelling that "The Bolts, There Bursting" and you get 2H and 24M more to go so much more in depth of each of the characters. I am now goingto have to find the Book as i just found out here that is was made off a book by Lothar G. Buchheim which doesn't have the same if any of the crew dieing in the end and has even more plot and a 6th officer (2nd Engineer)
If you feel this was torture then you are just confounded by anything of Culture that could enhance your understanding of the world. I not saying you are only a thrill seeker as I was in my younger days a Thrill Seeker myself but i still read at least 75-150 books (Many over 1000-1500 pages each) a year in my 20's & 30's while living a fast life along with it.
I would have to say though, For you finding a Smart, Classy, Well Mannered and Good Woman must be right difficult if you are tortured by a bit of class and cultural expansion of your life.
