Gothic churchyard in Bergerac?

EPISODE :'Fires in the Fall'

I appreciate there's already a thread deignated to this episode, but here goes....

The graveyard where Roberta Jardine is buried and the 'Black Robe' mysteriously appears in the background (yet again) .. anyone got an exact Jersey location for this? It's something I'd like to see/photograph perchance

Not seen the specific episode you mention but I live in Jersey and if it helps they use St. Brelade's parish church graveyard a lot for picturesque graveyards. If nothing else it would be the best place to start.

But to be honest you'd be far better off having a little holiday here - if you live close enough to be able to jump on a plane, that is - and amuse yourself trying to find it! There are only 12 parish churches and only a handful of those which would have a graveyard fitting the description you give - be your very own Bergerac and see what you find!

Agreed - likely St Brelade's: http://www.cipostcard.co.nz/jersey/sbrelade.htm

But Jerseyporter is quite right, Jersey is well worth a visit. As the series demonstrates, there is plenty to see.

I agree it's most likely that one. It's beautiful looks down onto St Brelades beach. Jersey IMO is one of the most beautiful places ever. We did a bit of Bergerac spotting last year :)

We took some lovely family holidays there when the kids were young. Sunny, hot but familiar shops so no worries about having to take the right nappies/wipes and so-on! Gorgeous beaches, lots to do, great food. And lots of thought-provoking history and museums to explore. It's shocking how few people in the UK know the Channel Islands were occupied during the war. The episode with the former SS officer is one that I always remember, for the questions it raises - "what would you have done in Jim's place?"?".

I even did the Bergerac tour, and had my photo take by that car , complete with cut-out of Jim himself (I kid you not)!

The guide was great too, we had a quiz on the coach, things like what was the name of the character played by Liza Goddard. Great fun if you're prepared to join in.
