Searching for Mike Jittlov

I don't know if anyone really looks here or not but I don't know where else to go.
I used to love this movie as a kid. My parents worked for Dungeons and Dragons back in the 80's and 90's and at a SciFi convention, they ate dinner with him and Larry Elmore. They told me he was just as strange as he was in the movie. (In a scene in the movie, they scroll through Mikes room and one of my parents paintings is on the wall.) John and Laura Lakey, if any of you are REAL geeks you might know them :)
Anyhow, I digress. My idea is more or less that there be a documentary or book about him. The first half would talk about his work and his neurotic habits while the second half would focus on finding him! I think he's probably tucked in the Hollywood hills somewhere. Anyhow, if anyone finds this interesting or would like to help please respond. Thanks!

I'd find it interesting. I met him at a SciFi convention once, when I was a little kid. I hardly remember it, though. My Dad took me and my twin sister to all the conventions he could get to.

*I love that the movies I like get horrible reviews. It makes them come out on DVD earlier.*

I think this is his official webpage, I haven't looked through the whole thing yet so I don't know if there are any contact links. Good luck!

Mike Jittlov is notoriously easy to reach, I mean he even lists his phone number on his contact page! Considering you have some amount of history with him I'd imagine he'd be very willing to talk to you, although I'd suggest e-mailing him first just because he says in his contact information to call "if your message is urgent."

I was in the L.A. area recently and was incredibly tempted to try to get in contact with him and arrange some sort of meeting/interview/etc, ultimately I didn't feel like I had anything to offer him or a reason to really pick his brain though so I chickened out. I think Jittlov deserves to get his story out there by any means possible, I find it incredibly unfair that a movie like WoSaT can accomplish so much with so few resources (and with Jittlov handling damn near everything!) and not get the attention it is due! Everyone I show this movie to is blown away by it and I think it's easily one of the most inspiring films for anyone who's ever dreamed of making a movie. Please write back on this board if/when you get in contact with him and update us on how it went!

P.S. the URL for his contact information is http://www.wizworld.com/comments.html

I've tried that already, actually.
He didn't respond to my email and the phone just kept ringing and ringing.
I don't even know if he's in the US anymore.
I think he wanted to go to Norway or something

try this newsgrp alt.fan.mike-jittov if he's still on line he will no doubt stop by here now and again and see your post if its there. In the mean time start writing that book, but make the focus for the first half him instead of his foibles, he is far more interesting than any of his quirks. Which are only a small facet of this complex and deeply intelligent man. How many pages could be filled with pondering the movies he never made and why he never made them, and all his art, poetry, and writing even heavily edited would fill volumes. To write a biography about Jittlov and base the first half on his "odd behaviour" would be the same as doing it to Peter Sellers or Stanley Kubrik. P.s u probably guessed but I aint hating on your book, just offering some constructive critism on it's subject matter :) I think its a great idea and I had a similar idea for a documentry about him. I wish you well with it and would love to read any drafts you submit anytime soon:)

Maybe he died?
I e-mailed him twice.
I may be in the LA area soon and I know where he lives.
Plus it's only 39 cents to send a letter to him and surely all human beings check their mailbox daily. I doubt he is dead, but you never know. I mean, all the fansites haven't been updated since 1999 and the most recent photos I found are from 2004. He seemed to be healthy though.
