Tarah Nutter

I admit to not knowing who one of the producers listed is, but I doubt it's him pulling an Alan Smithee. Clark produced two of Mike MacFarland's directorial efforts through his World Amusement banner, and his name isn't on either one. The other, "Hanging on a Star," is at least briefly mentioned in his book, "On the Cheap," albeit with no context, note of his involvement, or any reason for even bringing it up. The reader is just automatically supposed to know what it is and why he's put it in a sentence. What can I say? If you've read any of Greydon's screenplays, you'll know what to expect with his writing. The only rationale I can think of is that he simply put up the money for them and wasn't involved otherwise, so he felt like they weren't "his" to comment on. Because if you've seen some of the things he did put his name on, he certainly wouldn't have taken it off due to embarrassment over the finished product.

Clark does document both of Nutter's tantrums in clinical detail, along with the (first) production shutdown that she caused. (There were two, though the second was by design due to his scamming the tax shelter system and Darby being busy with something else during the original shoot in November-December, 1979.) Let's just say there are a lot of people he badmouths in there - some deserved, some not so deserved - and if Tarah acted even halfway as awful as he attributes to her, it was completely deserved in her case. Some people sure are well-named!

I gathered Nelson lost interest in acting. He was too talented and too charismatic to have roles dry up overnight.
