The mirror crack'd

Most deride this movie but I just love it. Irwin Allen's last disastrous volcanic gasp. Irwin must have been a laugh riot prevailing on all these stars to fulfill their contractual obligations to him. What did they want? They all got to shoot it in Hawaii. I think the most exciting and original part is when Anderson, Spangler and Webster take that most thrilling elevator ride down into the volcano's throat. It's great! The best part for me and probably many others is at the end when the volcano ( in the black of night so we can all see the pretty orange lava better ) belches out a friggin' meteor that just has to directly impact the hotel and incinerate Spangler's mad idyllic dream of being a hotel magnate to hell...along with himself, the girlfriend, his idiot wife and everyone else stupid enough to remain. Geez, they should all have just chilled out, swam in the pool and enjoyed that magificent view of an erupting volcano, all that beautiful orange lava illuminating the night and all the thrilling rumbling but who ever said the beautiful people when they're on tropical vacations were smart?
