For me, this movie has haunted me since I was a kid. I suppose it was my first introduction to something even slightly "gothic", thanks to the awesome house in which it was filmed and the surrounding area. I don't know--looking back, I guess you're right. It's not that scary, but for a Disney movie, at the time, it was quite dark. Plus, Bette Davis is still CREEPY even after many years. Part of me has always wanted to investigate on an old, creepy, possibly haunted house. Pluswhich, the guy from The Great Escape is in it too. Sadly, not Steve McQueen. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion, but see it from the perspective of a kid, who has since dreamed of seeing a ghost. Be well. Love often.

I gave it a 6/10 because it was creepy, but not truly scary. The acting was a little wooden, the pacing was going at a snail's pace, but most of it was really good & well done.
