i remember this and similar ghost/spooky/horror movies aired on swedish television, in the 90's i think, like this, "mr. boogedy" with bud from "married with children", "snow white" with diana rigg (i'm guessing the titles a bit.) i recently got this on dvd, it was a bit creepier than i expected it to be, especially the mirror part. interesting to see bette davis so late in her career, and i was hooked on lynn holly johnson when i was a kid. the whole thing about the dog turned me off a bit, so i didn't stay with the story incase something would happen to it.

ghostly figures appeared,
right behind you came up clear,
caught me off guard,
with help from the dark,
with your exotic thrill,
i'll do anything at your will,
got me in your control,
try to resist though can't help but fall for,
but i keep on tryin till i succeed,
to break the magic spell you got on me.

I would recommend Burnt Offerings and The Legend of Hell House. The first stars Bette Davis and the second one is from John Hough, the same director as this movie. Both have a creepy atmosphere like this film.

I second these two. Honestly though, there isn't a film anything quite like The Watcher in the Woods IMO. There is just something about it; granted, I think part of this is the nostalgia factor, as I grew up watching it and became obsessed with it (I credit it along with Scooby Doo as the beginning of my love for horror stories), but it's also just an insanely atmospheric movie. It's been one of my favorites since I was around eight years old, and has stuck with me all throughout the years.
